The Department of Cardiology provides a broad range of services for the diagnosis and management of heart disease. The department consists of a strong team that upholds the highest standards of cardiovascular care and operates as a self-sufficient institution, responding to the health needs of all our patients. Our doctors are highly skilled professionals specializing in various cardiac subspecialties to treat all types of heart diseases. Patients referred from other hospitals in the Mediterranean region, as well as neighboring European Union countries.

History

The Cardiology Department was established in 1985 within the Department of Internal Medicine by Prof. Dr. Necmi Değer. In 1990, the department was transformed into the Cardiology Department. Since 1998, our clinic has been providing services entirely within the current hospital building, including inpatient units, a coronary care unit, outpatient clinics, and non-invasive cardiology laboratories. The bed capacity of our clinic increased in 2001 with the opening of a new service block and a coronary care unit.

Facility & Services

Our clinic has been a pioneer in many interventional cardiology procedures in Turkey due to its bold approach in the field of interventional cardiology. The first coronary stent implantation via the radial approach, the first stent implantation in an unprotected left main coronary artery, and the first coronary laser and brachytherapy applications in Turkey were performed in our clinic.
