Internal Medicine Units
Thoracic Medicine
Pulmonology is a unit where diseases related to the respiratory system are diagnosed, treated and followed up. In this department, examinations, tests and treatments related to respiratory system diseases such as asthma, COPD, bronchitis, pneumonia, intestitial lung disease and sleep disorders are performed. While the Pulmonology Department serves outpatients with a total of seven separate Asthma/COPD, 24 patients can be examined and treated in the inpatient ward.
Radiology
The Department of Radiology was established in 1981 as a part of Akdeniz University Hospital, and in 1997 it moved to its modern building located in the H block of our hospital. Additionally, our department has various units in A, B and K blocks of the hospital. Akdeniz University Hospital Radiology department continues to provide world-class service with its academic staff and modern devices for more than 40 years.
Radiation Oncology
A huge number of patients with benign and malign tumors are being treated in our department. Mostly lung, breast, prostate, head & neck, gastrointestinal system, , gynocological, genitouriner system tumors, along with central nervous system, hematological system, skin, bone-and-soft tissue and pediatric tumors are being treated.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional disorders. The department focuses on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving quality of life through individualized treatment programs. Care is delivered using a multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach.
Psychiatry
The aim of the Akdeniz University Department of Psychiatry is to provide both high-standard specialist training and quality healthcare services. Akdeniz University Department of Psychiatry trains psychiatrists with a high level of clinical competence in the field of psychiatry in line with scientific and ethical principles through specialist training.
Pediatric Health Department
Our Department provides pre-graduation and post-graduate education in Child Health and Diseases, as well as upper specialization training in different sub-branches, and provides health services as the research and reference hospital of the region.
Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry
Psychiatric evaluation of a child or adolescent begins with interviewing the child and his/her family/caregivers and taking a detailed history of the child's application complaint and accompanying complaints. The primary purpose in the psychological evaluation of the child is to determine whether the reason for applying the child is a part of the child's normal development or if there is a psychopathology. However, the evaluation includes not only the child's current complaint
Nuclear Medicine
Our center, which provides comprehensive services in radioisotope imaging and treatment, is a reference hospital for the Mediterranean Region and other neighboring European Union, Russian Federation and Middle East countries.
Neurology
The Neurology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. The department focuses on accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and long-term follow-up of neurological conditions. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary approach using modern diagnostic technologies.
Medical Genetics
The Medical Genetics Department provides diagnostic, counseling, and follow-up services for genetic and inherited disorders. The department supports patients of all ages with a focus on early diagnosis, risk assessment, and personalized care. Services are delivered in close collaboration with other clinical specialties.
Internal Medicine
The Department of Internal Medicine provides high quality medical care for patients with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions. Faculty members in the department have a broad-based training in General Internal Medicine in one or more subspecialties. The presence of clinicians with different subspecialty training in the department allows an integrated approach to patient care.
Family Medicine
The Family Medicine Department at Akdeniz University Hospital provides comprehensive primary healthcare for individuals and families of all ages. The department focuses on preventive care, early diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Patient-centered and continuous care is the core principle of the department.
Forensic Medicine
The Forensic Medicine Unit is responsible for the preparation of forensic reports upon the request of the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor, judicial authorities, and law enforcement agencies; the execution of laboratory analyses; the performance of autopsies on behalf of the Antalya Group Presidency of the Council of Forensic Medicine; and the preparation of related documentation.
Dermatology and Venereology
Akdeniz University Department of Dermatology and Venereology has a long tradition of supporting scientific research. Our department is currently one of the leaders in basic and clinical research in dermatology in Turkey. The training areas, outpatient and inpatient treatment services of the Department of Dermatology and Research Laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine are combined in the modern campus of Akdeniz University Hospital.
Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases
Our department provides diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment of healthcare-associated infections, particularly in patients admitted to intensive care units. These infections, primarily pulmonary and bloodstream infections, as well as surgical site infections and urinary tract infections, are frequently seen in patients in intensive care. These infections are often caused by microorganisms resistant to many antibiotics, making treatment challenging. Treatment of these patients is carried out in accordance with international guidelines.
Emergency Medicine
Dr. from the academic staff of the Department of Emergency Medicine, medical personnel from the administration of Akdeniz University Hospital and auxiliary personnel provide health services in the Emergency Service in Block B of the Hospital. The Emergency Department basically consists of 2 separate units: Adult Emergency and Pediatric Emergency.
Cardiology
The Department of Cardiology provides a broad range of services for the diagnosis and management of heart disease. The department consists of a strong team that upholds the highest standards of cardiovascular care and operates as a self-sufficient institution, responding to the health needs of all our patients. Our doctors are highly skilled professionals specializing in various cardiac subspecialties to treat all types of heart diseases. Patients referred from other hospitals in the Mediterranean region, as well as neighboring European Union countries.

The Urology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for diseases of the urinary system and male reproductive organs. Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
The Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department provides comprehensive surgical care focused on restoring form, function, and appearance. The department manages congenital anomalies, trauma, burns, and cancer-related defects using advanced reconstructive techniques. Treatment is delivered through a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Orthopedics and Traumatology
The Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department provides comprehensive care for musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and degenerative conditions. The department focuses on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and improving quality of life through modern surgical and non-surgical treatments. Care is delivered using advanced techniques and a multidisciplinary approach.
Obstetrics and Gynecology
In our clinic, the latest scientific developments are closely followed and all modern gynecologic obstetric interventions are successfully performed. Approximately 80% of the gynecological surgeries performed in our clinic are performed endoscopically and in this sense, it is one of the few centers in Turkiye.
Ophthalmology

Ear Nose and Throat Diseases
In our Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, all Ear, Nose and Throat diseases are treated using modern, advanced technological medical devices.. The diagnosis and treatment processes of our patients of all ages are evaluated by our experienced faculty members and physicians and carried out with a multidisciplinary approach.
Anaesthesiology
The Anaesthesiology Department provides comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for surgical and diagnostic procedures. The department focuses on patient safety, pain management, and individualized anesthesia planning using modern techniques.
