Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

The Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department provides comprehensive surgical care focused on restoring form, function, and appearance. The department manages congenital anomalies, trauma, burns, and cancer-related defects using advanced reconstructive techniques. Treatment is delivered through a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on patient safety and optimal outcomes.

History

The Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department has been an integral part of Akdeniz University Hospital since its establishment. The department has played an important role in the management of complex reconstructive cases, including trauma, burns, congenital anomalies, and cancer-related defects. Over the years, it has continuously developed its clinical and academic expertise in line with modern plastic surgery standards.

Facility & Services

Currently, 20 research assistants are receiving specialty training in our department. With our dynamic academic staff, consisting of 2 Professors, 1 Associate Professor, and 3 Medical Faculty Members, approximately 13,000 patients are treated annually. Our inpatient ward, designed for patient comfort, has a capacity of 25 beds. In our Burn Unit, which meets intensive care standards, we provide treatment for extensive burn injuries. Our clinic performs surgeries under general anesthesia five days a week. Additionally, procedures under both general and local anesthesia can be carried out in our Day Surgery Center as needed.
