The Department of Internal Medicine provides high quality medical care for patients with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions. Faculty members in the department have a broad-based training in General Internal Medicine in one or more subspecialties. The presence of clinicians with different subspecialty training in the department allows an integrated approach to patient care.
History
The Internal Medicine Department has been a core clinical unit of Akdeniz University Hospital since its establishment. It plays a major role in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of adult diseases. The department also contributes significantly to medical education and clinical research. Over time, it has evolved in line with modern internal medicine practices.

The Internal Medicine Department operates with modern inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. Facilities include advanced diagnostic units, chronic disease follow-up services, and multidisciplinary consultation support.
