
Neurosurgery
The Neurosurgery Department provides advanced surgical care for disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system. The department focuses on precise diagnosis, microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques, and multidisciplinary treatment planning. Care is delivered using modern technology for complex and high-risk neurosurgical conditions.
History
The Department of Neurosurgery, which was established in 1977 together with the Faculty of Medicine of Akdeniz University, has been providing qualified health services to Antalya and the surrounding provinces for more than 40 years since it was founded in 1980 under the chairmanship of Associate Professor Mete Saveren.
Facility & Services
Currently, it continues to serve successfully in the fields of neurovascular, neurooncology, paediatric neurosurgery, spine and scoliosis surgery, epilepsy and functional neurosurgery, trauma and peripheral neurosurgery with its 4 faculty members and 12 medical speciality students. At the same time, experimental and clinical research is carried out. These studies are published in national and international journals and presented at conferences.
